What You're Here to Do
Being the technical reference for a team of AI scientists speaks to you? Vooban is looking for an AI Tech Lead to guarantee impeccable service quality for our clients. Reporting to the AI Team Lead, you'll be responsible for choosing the technologies best suited to implementing our AI solutions and ensuring their optimal performance, adding real value for our clients. You'll guide best practices in code quality and be the team's technical mentor. As the go-to reference, you'll anticipate and prevent technical issues on projects. You'll make sure the team clearly understands the objectives and that model deployments land without a hitch.
Pssst: Note that you’ll need to regularly visit our Quebec City or Montreal offices to build strong connections with your team—so they can talk to you about more than just the weather!
What You'll Drive
- Provide technical leadership in AI: guide the team on the technical aspects of AI projects by selecting the best-suited technologies and ensuring their mastery to meet each project's specific requirements
- Guarantee solution excellence: design resilient, high-performing AI solutions in collaboration with stakeholders, while anticipating future needs and ensuring project scalability
- Oversee and optimize AI pipelines: set up and monitor data processing and model deployment pipelines, ensuring they run smoothly and improving data collection and preparation processes
- Coach and train the team: support team members in their technical AI growth, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and regularly tracking skills and code quality
- Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing: act as the technical reference point, foster a shared understanding of AI objectives across the team, and share best practices and innovations through internal and external training sessions
Your profile
- You have at least 7 years of experience as an AI Scientist, including a minimum of 3 years as a technical lead
- You hold a graduate degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field
- You are an expert at context switching
- You manage your priorities and those of others better than anyone
- You are a natural leader who embraces the "Extreme Ownership" approach
- You have deep knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI)
- You are comfortable with uncertainty and the challenges of managing multiple sprints simultaneously

Did you know that threat detection on pipelines is currently done by pilots, who must fly over hundreds of kilometres while inspecting the infrastructure for potential dangers. The application we’re working on helps the pilot detect, validate, and report potential threats that the human eye and brain cannot process consistently.
Flyscan allowed us to try all sorts of new methodologies and to carry out their project the way we wanted!
